Malas, also known as Prayer Beads or Rosaries, are a string of beads used in meditation practices, and are meant to assist the individual in keeping count while chanting mantras, prayers, or while performing prostrations. Tibetan style Malas contain 108 counting beads, 3 marker beads, and a “Guru” bead (meant to symbolize wisdom). Completing one 108 bead Mala counts for 100 recitations (the extra 8 beads are there to compensate for any mistakes in the practice). |

Mantras can be repeated hundreds, even thousands of times. By using a MALA, you can keep your focus on the meaning of the mantra, and its sound, without having to compromise concentration. Usually, one repetition is said per bead, and if your practice takes you beyond one full MALA of repetitions special “Counters (usually made in strings of 10), can be added to your MALA. Be sure and stay tuned to our website (or join our email list for updates and specials, by clicking HERE) for the addition of Counters to our Product Line. MALAS can be for personal use, or given as treasured gifts. |
